Questions I get asked about self improvement

Do what you do best. How many of us try and do everything instead of doing what we do best? A great line I picked up from the biography of Steve Jobs. If it wasn’t for Steve, Woz’s great innovation would just be in a hobby shop some place. I want you to really think about that. Woz was the expert engineer, but Steve was the expert marketer. Each did what they did best. The result of course is history – Apple. The point we need to take with us today is simply this – we need to let our people do what they are really good at and find someone else to do what they are not very good at. By doing this we create tremendous unbelievable success.

The fact is that you pay for everything, every breath has a cost. When you receive something, anything, you pay for it in some way. If you don’t pay now, you will pay later, or you may have paid in advance. Self development cannot happen if you deny or ignore the reality that everything has a cost, and if we do not pay in some way, we will not get the value we could have.

Have you ever wondered why it is that we read fairy tales to our children, right before they sleep? During the night, our brain processes anything we see, hear or occupy ourselves with, over the last hour before sleeping.

I choose to live in a personal evolution zone.   I prefer to evolve and improve my life with incremental steps toward profound change. Reflecting on my successes and failures in 2011 helped define my personal intentions for the new year. And while I have lofty intentions and enormous dreams, I expect occasional setbacks. I believe you can correct your course of action and begin again at any time. Falling off the wagon does not mean you’ve failed.

There is an old saying that states, “If you have integrity nothing else matters, If you don’t have integrity nothing else matters”. This may seem to simplify matters but I believe that it is 100% true. But do you believe it… and live it?

There is much more to this world that what you see or what you experience. Consider the fact that you are not able to truly see reality and that there is more to life than meets the eye.
